SWAP was established in the 2001 as a business entity and incorporated in 2003 as SWAP Technologies and Telecomms Limited and in the year 2008 became a public limited liability company with object to engage in the business of telecoms infrastructure sharing, engineering & supply of technical appliance equipment, manage and maintain telecoms systems, among other things.
As part of the expansion plan of the company, the company established operations in Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire in 2008 and 2009 respectively. The Ghana and Cote D’Ivoire operations were set out to be strategic for the company’s entrance into other sub Saharan African countries.
In 2013, PRIME Infrastructure & Engineering Services Limited was established as a result of the divestment of SWAP’s engineering services business unit to become a wholly engineering, procurement and construction company. This change repositioned SWAP Tech & Telecomms as a lean operations’ business with the aim of maximizing value for all stakeholders.
In its pursuit to maximize shareholders’ value and as a result of a direct response to its fast changing business environment, SWAP rebranded its regional operations in engineering services as PRIME Infrastructure & Engineering Services Ltd with the aim of mitigating identified risks and to operate uniformly in its processes and practices across board.
